Melony is where storage becomes art. Melony began with a simple frustration. Creative work lives in visual worlds, but the tools used to store it feel rigid, text heavy, and disconnected from how designers actually think. What should feel inspiring instead feels like digital clutter.

Melony reimagines cloud storage as a creative environment, not just a utility. It unites powerful organization with a beautiful, visual interface so creatives can keep, see, and share their work in a way that feels intuitive, expressive, and alive. Storage becomes a space you want to be in, not just somewhere you drop files.

The Problem
Traditional storage systems were built for documents, not design. They rely on file names, linear lists, and rigid folder hierarchies. For visual thinkers, this creates friction, slows momentum, and breaks creative flow.

Core Insight
Creatives think in images and spatial relationships. Storage should mirror that mental model and support creative flow rather than interrupt it.

The Strategy

Melony is guided by three design principles.

‘The Artboard

The Artboard is where ideas start to take shape.

It functions as a freeform collaborative canvas, part moodboard, part workspace. Users can pull entire folders
or individual assets onto a spatial layout, arranging ideas visually instead of burying them in folders.

Teams can add notes, cluster references, and build visual narratives together. Boards evolve alongside the project,
becoming a living record of creative thinking rather than a static archive.

*I designed Artboard drafts so users can save work in progress, return to it later, or export directly from Melony.
Custom cover images help users quickly recognize past ideas and jump back in without losing context.*

This design introduces Melony’s vision, highlighting key features and guiding users through
the platform in a clear and visually engaging way.

The Community Layer
Creativity thrives in conversation, not isolation.

Melony’s Community space brings inspiration and discovery into the same environment as storage. Users can explore other creators’ work, filter by discipline, location, or style, and save projects that resonate with their taste and goals.

I designed a drafted feature showing a hovering bookmark tab that can be moved around the screen. It acts as a directory to narrow down findings by artistic medium, helping users organize and return to inspiration more easily.

By following creators and connecting with collaborators, Melony turns storage into a shared creative network. Your work does not just live in folders. It lives in a larger creative ecosystem.

Build a Showcase

Each user’s Showcase is a personalized view of their work within the Community page.

Showcase offers a portfolio building alternative that gets creative work out into the world in just a few minutes.I designed it to be highly customizable, giving artists a space to present their work seriously while keeping the process intuitive and enjoyable.

It complements the Community by turning discovery into participation—creators see both their own work and what others are sharing, making inspiration and exposure seamless parts of the workflow.
