Case Study - Melony 2025

UX/UI, Product Design, Branding, Creative Leadersip

Melony is where storage becomes art. A creative cloud storage platform designed to make organizing and sharing visual work feel more intuitive, expressive, and inspiring.

I helped shape Melony’s visual identity and product experience, bringing its mission to life through branding, UX/UI design, and creative direction. The goal was to move beyond traditional file storage and create a visual environment that feels natural to the way creatives think, work, and collaborate.
The Problem

Traditional cloud storage platforms prioritize files, folders, and text-heavy interfaces over the visual nature of creative work. Melony set out to rethink that experience, creating a more intuitive way for artists and designers to organize, explore, and share their work.

Brand & Product Vision

Building a cohesive brand and digital experience that brings together visual storytelling, thoughtful organization, and a distinct creative identity. From the product interface to the brand’s social presence and launch strategy, each touchpoint was designed to communicate Melony’s vision and connect with its creative community.

The Strategy

Melony is guided by three design principles.

Visual First Navigation

Surface assets visually to make browsing more intuitive, reduce search time, and help creatives find their work at a glance.
Seeing Your Work in Context

Preview work in realistic or stylized frames to understand how it looks beyond the file itself, turning storage into a more gallery-like experience.
Judge a Folder By Its Cover

Give folders a visual identity that makes shared spaces easier to recognize, explore, and navigate while supporting collaboration and creative alignment.

The Dashboard
Designed to feel like a curated gallery, the dashboard puts visual work front and center.

Browse Visually. Find Faster. An image-forward layout makes assets easy to recognize and browse at a glance.
Frame Your Work, Your Way.Digital frames let creatives preview their work in context and explore different presentation styles.
Judge a Folder By Its Cover.Custom folder covers make projects easier to scan, identify, and navigate.

The Artboard
The Artboard is where ideas start to take shape.

Part moodboard, part workspace, the Artboard is a freeform collaborative canvas where users can bring folders and individual assets into a shared visual space. Instead of navigating rigid folder structures, creatives can arrange, connect, and explore ideas spatially.

Teams can add notes, group references, and build visual narratives together. As projects evolve, Artboards become living spaces for creative exploration, capturing the thinking and collaboration behind the final work.

*I designed Artboard drafts to let users save work in progress, pick up where they left off, and export directly from Melony. Custom cover images make past projects easy to recognize, helping users revisit ideas and continue working without losing context.*

Landing Page
Designed to introduce Melony’s vision and communicate the value of the platform through a clear visual hierarchy, feature highlights, and an engaging layout that guides users through the product experience.

The Community Layer

Creativity thrives in conversation, not isolation.

Melony’s Community brings inspiration and discovery into the same space as creative storage. Users can explore work from other artists, filter by discipline, location, or style, and save projects that resonate with their interests.

I designed an early bookmarking concept featuring a movable tab that acts as a quick-access directory. Users can filter inspiration by artistic medium, making it easier to organize references and return to ideas that catch their eye.

By following creators and discovering potential collaborators, Melony extends beyond storage into a shared creative network where work can be seen, explored, and connected.

Build a Showcase
Each user’s Showcase is a personalized space within the Community to present their work.

I designed Showcase as a simple, customizable alternative to building a traditional portfolio, allowing creatives to share their work in just a few minutes. The experience balances flexibility with ease of use, giving artists control over how they present themselves without making the process feel overwhelming.

Showcase connects personal expression with community discovery, helping creators share their work, gain visibility, and find inspiration in what others are making.
